The GSBA Board of Directors voted to endorse the Move Seattle campaign at the October meeting.
Replacing the expiring Bridge the Gap levy, Move Seattle is the largest property tax levy in Seattle's history, and will raise $930 million over 9 years to fund critical work on our roads and transportation system. It will fund hundreds of projects across all neighborhoods and districts to reduce congestion, increase safety and make targeting investments to our aging transportation infrastructure.
GSBA's support of this ballot measure continue's the organization's support of increased transportation and infrastructure investments. GSBA previously endorsed 2014's Transportation Proposition 1 and supported efforts in Olympia this year for full funding of the upcoming Sound Transit 3 projects. Having an adequate transportation system is critical for our businesses, for our communities and for our economy as a whole.
