Vote YES on I-1433

After deliberate discussion with our Public Policy Task Force, Board of Directors, and our membership at large, GSBA has formally endorsed Initiative 1433, which will appear on the general election ballots this November. In a poll of our membership, a super-majority supported I-1433.
I-1433 would raise the state's minimum wage to $13.50 in a tiered phase-in over several years and create a uniform statewide paid sick and safe time policy. GSBA is proud of our history of supporting small businesses and advocating for policies that promote equity and opportunity. With an ever-growing income gap, I-1433 is a chance to address stagnant wages that have not kept up with the rising cost of living in Washington State. To be competitive in this economy, we need to be able to attract and retain talent. A higher minimum wage makes Washington more competitive as Oregon and California also work to implement similar wages.
Vote YES on I-1433.
