The Manager of Footwear Business will lead the business planning process for performance footwear. This business leader will report to the SVP of Footwear, working to transform the footwear business into a highly sustainable profitable global leader in performance running.
The Manager of Footwear Business will drive cross functional excellence by building effective working processes between the core functions of Sourcing, Footwear Triads (Development, Design, PLM), S&OP Operations, Materials, and Costing functions to achieve business targets efficiently and effectively. He/she will be a strong partner and advisor to the teams responsible for product merchandising, creative ideation, product development and business planning for Brooks’ footwear globally. This will include influence and collaboration from the product brief stage through design and development.
This business leader will have responsibility for managing the Footwear 3-year P&L within a 5-year Strategic Plan including Footwear Opex Budget, with the goal of hitting margins to achieve corporate short term and long term targets on a market-by-market basis.
This business leader will raise the business acumen of the Triad by holding up a business lens to all decision making that happens throughout the product creation process.  



    • Build and manage the 3 Years Footwear Category P&L, analyze key variance and report on key drivers.
    • Support PLM and Merchandising in building regional 5-year forecast and in aligning those forecasts and assumptions with key regional Sales leaders, S&OP and FP&A.
    • Drive Seasonal Business kick-offs through the I2R Ftw Process to frame the goals of every season, as well as the I2R strategic framework for anticipation targets, in accordance with the 3-year P&L plan and 5-year Strategic Plan.
    • Be a key voice in overseeing long term business planning and forecasting as it relates to assortment productivity and margin optimization.
    • Build and maintain a financial model to calculate footwear margin for current and upcoming seasons. Publish seasonal reports at key milestones in creation process.
    • Drive and deliver on business metrics for the footwear business, including defining future capacity and factory base needs, to create and maintain analytical tools for managing product line evolution, SKU performance, revenue and gross margin optimization on a global level.
    • Responsible for building financial targets incl. FOB/Margins, helping with vendor selection and allocation, contingency planning and risk management.
    • Create product framework (e.g. Versatile/Good, Balanced/Better, Amplified/Best) to assign Go-In Margin targets for each product at season kickoff that will achieve bottom line regional and global targets, and communicate to relevant parties.
    • Identify high cost components or processes on each project and develop alternatives to reduce the FOB including different components, different suppliers, design changes or process changes 
    • Ensure that weighted average Go-In Margin for each season/year will hit corporate targets as volume, price assumptions change throughout I2R process.
    • Build costing models to enable costing/development teams to estimate and negotiate product costs
    • Support Product Line Management and Merchandising functions with key data reporting and analyses including product sales and profitability by region/channel and SKU efficiency; propose recommendations based on analyses
    • Build reports to track key financial metrics and targets including Units, Revenue, and Margin on a weekly, monthly and seasonal basis
    • Lead Budget project and quarterly Reforecasts with active Function Leaders contribution and FP&A to ensure that the Ftw Strategy execution is properly funded, upgrading processes and efficiency. Provide monthly reporting on footwear budget – identify key areas of under/over spend.
    • Cross Functional Leadership:   Lead improvement in footwear teams’ business acumen throughout the I2R process: Promote business thinking to Product team through input, guidance, and analytics / Create framework to analyze ROI and other key metrics for Footwear Initiatives, especially Automation and cost saving projects.
