GSBA is excited to announce a NEW Hospitality & Tourism Networking Series – Theatrically ‘Out & About’… and YOU are invited!

Theatrically "Out & About" will create NEW opportunities for GSBA to embrace Hospitality & Tourism members and the arts like never before. This networking series is open to all identities that are dedicated to welcoming LGBTQ travelers, from near and far. This series of evenings invites you to gather with fellow GSBA members that support a similar mission of providing LGBTQ travelers with inclusive, safe, and unique experience in Seattle and through Washington state.

The first theatrical event in our 2019 – 2020 GSBA series kicks off at Seattle REP with their fall production of INDECENT-  A powerful drama from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, Indecent charts the true story of a controversial 1906 play, Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance. Indecent is a love story about the power of art to provide solace and light through the darkness. Following its recent success on Broadway, this critically acclaimed Tony Award-winning play with music comes to Seattle Rep featuring an ensemble of actors and musicians who bring to life one of the most engrossing scandals in theater history.

How the evening will unfold:

6pm- Arrival time. Tickets will be available under your name at Seattle REP Will Call the night of the show.

Apps and drinks will be provided by Seattle REP, while you enjoy an hour+ to mix, mingle and get to know fellow GSBA Hospitality & Tourism members (Be sure to bring your business cards to share!)

7:30PM- Curtain

Approx. 9:15pm- Post-Show Panel set to include Louise Chernin, GSBA President & CEO – Queerness and Judaism:  God of Vengeance by Sholem Asch portrayed the first kiss between two women on the Broadway stage, which was also between two Jewish characters. This interplay of identities made conversations and controversies around the play complex. Join community members and leaders in a conversation about the intersectionality of the Jewish and LGBTQ+ identities. How welcome are LGBTQ+ folks in Jewish spaces and via versa? And how do we create safe spaces for these intersectional identities?

Tickets are limited. Be sure to RSVP for this FREE event ASAP, for you and a guest.

This being our inaugural Hospitality & Tourism networking event, GSBA hopes to make it a great success, with exciting theatrical opportunities to follow all year long. Future Theatrically "Out & About" events are in the works for 2019 and 2020, so stay tuned to mark your calendars for those as well.
