Step 1: Apply Online
The application is available online by mid-October and must be submitted by January 12, 2018. You will need a valid email to create an account. Once your account is created you can work on your application over several sessions.
Step 2: Semi-Finalist Selected
A team of community volunteers will individually review and rate each application on the basis of the evaluation criteria. Each team will select the individuals they feel best exemplify the selection criteria. These semi-finalists will be notified in late March and will be asked to come to Seattle for an in-person interview. If you are unable to travel to Seattle, we can set up a phone interview.
Step 3: Scholars Selected
A panel of volunteers will interview semi-finalists in mid-to-late April. The volunteers will then make their selection as to who will be awarded a GSBA Scholarship. We introduce our scholars to the community at our annual Scholarship Awards Dinner in mid-May.
Pride Foundation Scholarships
Pride Foundation also awards a variety of scholarships to LGBTQ students. They fund both undergraduate and graduate studies and accept applications from residents of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.
More information about the Pride Foundation and their Scholarship Program can be found here
Because of the collaboration between GSBA and the Pride Foundation, you will only need to fill out one application form whether you are applying for a GSBA scholarship, Pride scholarship, or both.
